The East Lindsey Metaphysical Society was formed around 1968 in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, England.

This small group was gathered together to investigate a haunting. The family were terrified by the disturbances at the house. The group came from diverse backgrounds and varied work experiences, which was ideal for this work.

Over the years, the E.L.M.S. attended many hauntings and witnessed many things. Each visit was documented in photographs and written text.

The equipment used included a reel-to-reel tape recorder, a 35mm film camera, a black-and-white TV camera, thermometers, and an 8mm film camera.

 

Some of the experiments included table tipping or tilting, levitation, past-life regression, telekinesis, apports, and many others.

 

Some were successful, while others achieved partial successes. These were conducted several times to determine if the results could be replicated.

Over the years, the East Lindsey Metaphysical Society conducted many experiments, some more successful than others, as you would expect. ​

Each experiment would be repeated to ensure we were not relying solely on one result; this would prove invaluable over time. ​

You can also find that some equipment would not be as accurate as you think unless it has been calibrated.
